This blog contains my thoughts and ideas. Often I will be writing about the Bible and I wish it to be known that when I do I will be interpreting it as I see it. I hope that everyone who reads this will check the Bible out for themselves and not take what I say as the correct interpretation. I am only human and make mistakes like anyone else. Only the Holy Spirit is capable of leading a person to to the truth of what the Bible means. For each of us must have an individual relationship with each member of the trinity and work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

Philippians 2:11-13 (King James Version)
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Women and Wisdom

I read a post by Crysalis concerning whether or not Christian women should think and it got me to "thinking" about "thinking". Actually, it got me to thinking about a Christian woman's obligations and responsibilities concerning her knowledge of God and the Bible.

In my response to Chrysalis's post I told her that I thought of a person's knowledge on this subject as wisdom and quoted her the passage in Proverbs 31 about how the "virtuous woman" "openeth her mouth with wisdom" Proverbs 31:26. But a study of the word wisdom will lead one to find that wisdom is something that we are admonished to seek Proverbs 2:2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; & Proverbs 4:5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.. We are told in Job 28:18 that the price of wisdom is above rubies and Proverbs 8:11 says "For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.."

In Matthew 25:1-13, Christ himself teaches the importance of wisdom in women. The parable of the ten virgins teaches that women must be wise in order to be prepared for the things that are to come. If we, as Christian women, do not "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15, then we will not be ready to face the things that the world will throw at us on a daily basis, much less for the return of our Lord, when He returns to take us home.

Making Changes

Well, it has been so very long since I blogged last. And so very much has happened in that time. Some of it heartbreaking, some of it mortifying, some of it potentially good.

My daughter ran off to New York in July, with my two oldest grandchildren. I say ran off because in doing this she defied a court order that says she could not move more than 50 miles from where she lived, here in Texas. This is not the first time that she has done this sort of thing, ignoring court orders, but apparently these orders are passed down for the express purpose of being disobeyed, since no one seems interested in doing anything about it.

My mom passed away towards the end of August. I wasn't able to see her in the last years of her life. Partly because of problems between she and I, partly because of other family members interference. I wasn't even notified when she passed and actually didn't find out until after she had been buried, and then it was on a social networking site when someone posted something about it. I have discovered that there is most likely some shenanigans that went on concerning her burial, some family who may have done some illegal things for financial gain.

My mom left me a house and I moved out of the nursing home and into it at the end of Sept. Yet things cannot be settled concerning the house until another family member probates the will, which they seem disinclined to do. I have reason to believe that they have also done some illegal things for the benefit of themselves and other family members and probating the will, will bring these things to light.

The house is in a little town where the powers that be have run a muck. In the short time that I have been back I have witnessed more of what I saw and experienced, when I lived here last, at one particular city facility. Again, illegal activity which no one seems interested in doing anything about. And this particular facility has already started giving me problems because they know what I stand for.

I spoke recently with another family member, who will soon be graduating from Law School, about these things. They seemed disinterested in it all as well. Their comments lead me to believe that they may have some problems with their chosen field since they had nothing but excuses on behalf of these people who break the law, especially those they are also related to. It saddens me to know that they don't have a clear stance on right and wrong. Especially knowing that they hope to go into the prosecution of criminals.

In this world what is illegal today could be legal tomorrow. I have witnessed this many times in my own lifetime, the changing of laws to suit one group or another. But the Bible's teachings are very clear, and unlike the laws of man, they are unchanging.
